Make it easy....

Happy Sunday and Happy December!

December 1st—can you believe it? Where did this year go? I remember being a kid and hearing my parents say, “The years just fly by,” while I felt like the school year dragged on forever. Now? I get it. Time really does move at lightning speed.

Speaking of time flying, let’s talk about this past weekend—one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. Black Friday has been a personal tradition of mine for over 20 years (yes, I feel old admitting that), but this year? Kind of a letdown.

And it taught me a HUGE lesson as a business owner: Make it easy for people to buy from you.

Let me break it down. I can’t even count how many sales I walked away from simply because the buying process was frustrating.

  • In stores: Items weren’t in the right place, prices weren’t clearly marked, no one was available to help, and those self-scan price stations were gone. And let’s not forget the ridiculously long lines. I ended up putting so many things back because it wasn’t worth the hassle.
  • Online: It wasn’t any better. Some websites were clunky, hard to navigate, and if I hit the back button, I had to start my search all over again. Codes didn’t work, and after multiple failed attempts, I just gave up.

It hit me hard: Ease of buying is more important than ever.

Time is moving faster, decision fatigue is real, and people simply don’t have the energy or patience to jump through hoops to make a purchase. And when they do? They’ll abandon the cart—just like I did.

Now, I get it. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, tech fails us. Things slip through the cracks, even when we think we’ve dotted every “i” and crossed every “t.”

But here’s a quick action step for you this week:

Be your own customer. Ask a non-tech-savvy friend or family member to walk through your buying process. If it’s not easy for them, it’s likely not easy for your audience either—and I can almost guarantee it’s cost you sales.

This is such a simple yet impactful fix. And if your sales process is naturally more complex, then make it easy for potential buyers to reach out with questions. A little support can go a long way. If stores had staff walking around with price scanners, I probably would have made at least three more purchases.

People are still buying—and not just what they need but what they want. But you’ve got to make it easy for them.

Take a moment this week to evaluate your buying process. A few small tweaks could make a big difference!

Strategic Resource of the Week

I am going back into the ARCHIVES for this week's resource. I used to run a very active FB community and every month I offered a free training and I was thinking about them the other day.

So, you are just going to have to look past my crappy webcam and mic (it's so fun to see how much progress we have made) and just listen to the content because it's good.

The training is about setting process goals vs outcome goals. Not sure what the difference is? Well tune in and find out!

P.s. Can you believe this is resource #48?? Ahh we are so close to the full year!

p.p.s. I really miss having a community that I can pour into. All the community platforms are tough - but if I opened my community back up in 2025, would you be interested? Reply back or shoot me a DM PLEASE!! This is something I am really considering for 2025.

Speaking of goals and communities...

Let me be real with you Reader: I’ve spent most of 2025 in hibernation mode.Behind the scenes of client calls and “busy” days, I was just trying to stay afloat. Yes, the backend of my business got cleaned up.Yes, I was supporting clients. But my own goals? The plan I made in December?Still sitting there. Half-done. Barely touched. And I know I’m not the only one.Because Q1 felt off for a lot of us.Ideas that never got off the ground. Revenue that was a rollercoaster. You’ve been doing your best...

Good Morning, Happy Spring Reader! I’ve been in San Diego since Wednesday for another business conference. My client, friend and colleague April flew out here with me, and we took some time to explore the city, meet internet friends in person, and make a few new connections along the way. This event has been a powerful mix of strategy and energy work, and in the middle of sound baths, meditations, breathwork sessions, and talks, two words kept showing up for me: BE BIGGER. It got me thinking...

Happy Sunday my friend! How did your January go? I’ve seen so many posts about how it felt like the longest month ever. Personally, I feel like it flew by—I can’t believe it’s already February! I spent much of January working behind the scenes in my business—cleaning things up, refining systems, and setting up processes to help things run more smoothly. Not exactly my favorite way to spend time, but it feels so good to have it done. Now, I can focus on the things that actually move the needle...
