Promotion

Good Morning my friend!

I hope you are having a beautiful weekend!! Over here we’re laying pretty low. My mom was back in the hospital this week from Tuesday to Thursday, and by Friday I woke up feeling less than 100%, so we’re just resting and hoping for an uneventful week ahead (with no more hospital trips!).

Today I want to talk about something every single one of us in business has to wrestle with at some point: promotion.

Self-promotion, promoting your offers, your business, basically letting people know you exist and how they can work with you.

This was actually the topic of July’s masterclass inside my FVA program. (Side note...I bet you didn't even know that we have a monthly masterclass because I’ve literally never promoted the fact we have monthly masterclasses, so I am not always my own best client, haha.)

When I asked the group how they felt about promoting themselves, I heard the same things over and over:

“I hate promoting myself.”
“I don’t even know where to start.”
“I get so sick of talking about myself.”

Sound familiar?

Trust me, I get it. Even for me, promotion isn’t always my strong suit and I've been seeing this topic pop up over on Threads quite a bit also!

Let’s first call out the elephant in the room: Most people don’t naturally love promoting themselves.

It’s not in our nature to constantly talk about ourselves, our offers, or what we’re selling. For some people it’s easier, sure, but for most of us? It feels weird.

But here’s the truth: If you’re not promoting yourself, you’ll be lucky to get any clients. If no one knows what you do or how to buy from you, they can’t. Period.

So first things first, let’s flip your mindset a little.

You have knowledge that people need. That’s why you started your business. Your knowledge solves a problem for someone else. By not telling them about it, you’re actually doing them a disservice.

We all have things we’re not good at, or don’t want to do ourselves, right? That’s why we hire people. That’s why we spend money. Sales isn’t sleazy, it’s service.

Second, let’s be honest about what promoting yourself brings up:

  • Vulnerability.
  • Fear of success.
  • Fear of being seen.
  • Impostor syndrome.

All of it. You’ll lose followers. People will unsubscribe. Some will roll their eyes. Let them. They’re not your people.

I had someone unsubscribe from my list this week because I’ve been sending more emails (some sales-focused). And you know what? That’s fine. She wasn’t my ideal client anyway.

If someone is bothered by you selling your offers in your own business? That’s on them.

One thing I’ve been working on is honoring those uncomfortable thoughts when they show up. They’re just my brain’s way of trying to protect me. And then letting them move through.

So let’s talk about ACTUALLY promoting yourself.

What does it look like?

We often default to thinking “more content” = more promotion. And yes, content matters. But that’s just one part.

Promotion can also look like:

  • Reaching out to referral or affiliate partners and asking who they know.
  • Sending emails to your list (all of it, or a segment).
  • Direct messaging leads who’ve shown interest.
  • Sharing client wins and testimonials.
  • Going live to talk about your offer.
  • Hosting a workshop or webinar.
  • Offering a free resource and following up.

The truth? You probably can’t promote yourself too much. I once heard a coach say:

“If you’re not sick of hearing yourself promote it, you haven’t done it enough.”

And they’re right. YOU are the only one who’s heard every single post, email, and DM you’ve sent. Your audience hasn’t.

But here’s the important thing to remember - promotion without a plan is just noise.

You need to know:

  • What’s the goal?
  • What’s the specific offer?
  • Who is it for?
  • Why do they need it?
  • How does it help them?

Promotion needs strategy. Otherwise you’re just shouting into the void and you will likely not get the results you are hoping for and that is where it can get discouraging. It's not that you are doing it wrong, it just means you need a more strategic approach.

And lastly - the most important thing to remember is - don’t give up too soon.

One of my clients is running a workshop this week. She wanted 10 people. She got 4 right away. Then a few more. She was so sick of promoting she wanted to quit.

But she remembered me mentioning that coach saying

“If you’re not sick of hearing yourself say it, you haven’t said it enough.”

So she kept going. She reached out to strategic partners and sold two more tickets. Last I checked, she only had two spots left and a few days to go.

Most people wait until the last minute to buy. Deadlines work. Even for evergreen offers, you can create little promotions with incentives or time-based bonuses to build urgency.

Bottom line:

  • Don’t be afraid to promote.
  • Don’t assume people know what you do.
  • Don’t quit before the finish line.
  • Have a strategy.

And who would I be to share all of this and then NOT promote something myself...I am here to lead by example and here's what I know about YOU, Reader...

You want to promote yourself. You want the clients. You want the sales.
You want the business that supports your life.

But you also want to feel good about how you’re showing up.

You want to own your expertise.
To believe in your offers so deeply it’s easy to talk about them.
To feel confident sending that follow-up DM instead of second-guessing every word.
To trust that you’re doing enough (even when it feels scary and hard).

The truth? Promotion is hard sometimes.

It’s vulnerable. It’s awkward. It’s uncomfortable.

That’s exactly why you shouldn’t have to do it alone.

Imagine having someone in your corner, like my client who texted me wanting to give up. Instead of letting her throw in the towel, I helped her see the possibilities. We came up with new angles, rewrote her follow-up DM so it sounded like her, and gave her the push to keep going.

And it worked.

That’s the power of support.

Inside the Focused Visionary Accelerator Hybrid Group + 1:1 program you will get
✅ Daily accountability check-ins for the first 40 days to keep you moving (imagine opening your phone to see my voice cheering you on every morning).
✅ Weekly accountability after that so you never lose momentum.
✅ Monthly 1:1 strategy sessions where we look at your exact plan and tailor it to you, no cookie-cutter BS.
✅ Full group access so you have a community of business owners who get it, who will celebrate your wins and hold you steady when it’s tough.

And right now, I’m offering $900 off this program. But from today through Friday, I am going to make it a full $1000 off. That gives you almost unlimited 1:1 access to me for only $800 more than the group program. That's an absolute STEAL of a deal!

Because this isn’t about selling you another strategy. It’s about helping you become the person who shows up even when it’s hard.

The person who sends the message even when it feels vulnerable.
Who shares the offer even when they’re scared.
Who keeps going even when they’re tired of hearing themselves talk about it.

If you know that’s who you want to be, but you also know you need help to get there, I want to invite you to see what working together could look like.

Let’s chat. No pressure, no obligation. Just a conversation about where you want to go and if this support is what you need to get there.

Let's chat this week. You don’t have to do it alone.

I’m here to help you keep going, stay focused, and finally see the results you’ve been working so hard for.

I've got you!

(and yes, you are going to see me promote this special all week, and I can already feel myself getting sick of it, but we keep going, we keep promoting because that is the ONLY way to invite people in to work with you!)

You know what to do -

Go take action! Talk to you next week!

Happy Sunday! August already? I swear I just blinked and July disappeared. It was a month full of conversations, clarity, and honestly...a lot of personal reflection. When we wrapped up the month inside the Focused Visionary Accelerator, I asked my clients to share a non-monetary win from July. We spend so much time celebrating revenue milestones (which I'm all for...I hit my July revenue goal and I'm celebrating that too), but sometimes the biggest wins aren't the ones that show up in your...

Happy Sunday! It's a travel day for me as I head back to Florida after spending the week in New York. My heart is full of memories, my belly is full of way too much soft serve, and my feet are incredibly happy they got to touch real grass again. (If you know, you know. Florida grass just doesn't hit the same.) So, in honor of my trip home, I thought I'd give you a little "New York Michelle." Go sell your shit. Seriously. I've been having way too many conversations lately with business owners...

Happy New Week! Was last week a doozy or what? Monday - Wednesday, I felt like my brain was literally broken. I couldn't put a string of thoughts together to save my life. My head was pounding and I literally didn't next to nothing. Finally woke up on Thursday feeling like a human again. Word on the street was that I wasn't alone and the New Moon and Mercury were causing some of this havoc. Anywho - back in action... Last Sunday I shared that I completely revamped my offers...again. This...
